TikTok released a standalone TikTok Shop app for iOS and Android in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, as spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. The app has its own feed of personalized product recommendations, shopping through livestreams and short videos, customer support, order tracking, and checkout, so shoppers can buy without opening the main TikTok app. To get them to switch, TikTok offers deals that only work in the new app, including free shipping and first-order discounts. TikTok hasn’t said whether it plans to bring the app to other markets, including the US, and didn’t comment to TechCrunch.
