Shopify released its Fall ‘26 Edition, the first ever edition to come between the Summer and Winter releases it has put out since 2022. Most of the Edition’s 150-plus updates center on AI agents, including a new skill called Shop.md that lets ChatGPT and Claude search more than a billion products and check out with Shop Pay, which Shopify is also adding to agents like Muse from Meta. Merchants can now manage products, inventory, and orders from ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and six other AI agents. Sidekick was rebuilt to write code, browse the web, and remember a merchant’s instructions, and it now sits on every page of a redesigned admin. Shopify also added a Rule Builder for custom fraud rules and seven local payment methods to Shopify Payments, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, and OXXO.
