Klarna‘s enhanced dispute management and Consumer FX capabilities will be available to merchants across Europe that work with Mollie, the companies said in a Tuesday (Nov. 3) press release emailed to PYMNTS.

This offering is part of an expanded agreement between Klarna, which is an everyday finance network, and Mollie, which is one of Europe’s leading payment processors. The companies have been long-standing partners, according to the release.

Klarna debuted Consumer FX on Oct. 21, saying this offering lets shoppers purchase from any participating Klarna merchant anywhere in the world and pay using their own currency, with no exchange fee. Klarna also handles foreign exchange disclosure, consent and compliance.

Merchants that already offer Klarna through Mollie will get access to the new Klarna features through their existing integration, while merchants that are new to Klarna can enable the features in minutes along with the company’s Pay in full, Pay in 3 and Financing options, according to the Tuesday press release.

“Mollie’s merchants across Europe will now have the same seamless access to Klarna as if they’d integrated with us directly,” Klarna President and Chief Commercial Officer David Sykes said in the release.

Mollie Chief Product Officer Rogier Schoute said in the release that the expanded partnership will give Mollie’s merchants instant access to 26 markets through their existing integration, with no extra development or new contracts.

“It gives growing businesses the scale and checkout experience of an enterprise player, without the engineering overhead,” Schoute said.

Mollie has more than 350,000 merchants, and the company’s acquisition of GoCardless added to its coverage across all European Economic Area (EEA) markets, per the release.

When Mollie announced in December that it was acquiring GoCardless, a U.K. bank payment company, it said the deal was designed to create a single provider of card payments, local methods and bank payments for more than 350,000 businesses.

Meanwhile, Klarna reported in August that during the second quarter, its gross merchandise volume rose 18% year over year to $36.6 billion. The company also reported that it is adding transactions and revenue beyond its traditional online checkout business.
