Shopify 报告:澳洲消费者黑五网一支出预计增至 346 美元
Australian shoppers set to increase Black Friday spending
Shopify 假日零售报告显示,澳大利亚消费者计划在 2026 年黑五网一周末平均支出 346 美元,高于去年的 324 美元,而全球平均计划支出从 276 美元降至 268 美元。
Australian consumers expect to increase their spending during the 2026 Black Friday Cyber Monday period despite ongoing economic pressures, according to research from Shopify’s holiday retail report.
The survey indicates that Australian shoppers intend to spend an average of $346 over the promotional weekend, up from $324 compared to last year.
This upward trend contrasts with global findings, where average planned spending declined from $276 to $268.
While planned expenditure has risen, 54 per cent of respondents noted that economic conditions have impacted their holiday purchasing decisions, prompting increased research prior to completing purchases.
The report found that 85 per cent of Australian shoppers prefer waiting to purchase a specific item rather than selecting an immediate alternative, compared to a global average of 79 per cent.
In addition, 57 per cent of respondents defined product value as receiving higher quality than expected for the price.
Artificial intelligence is also playing a role in consumer product research. The report showed that 62 per cent of Australian consumers expect to utilise AI tools for tasks such as deal discovery and product comparison.
Adoption is highest among younger demographics, with 70 per cent of shoppers aged 25 to 34 using AI tools while shopping, compared to 45 per cent across all age groups.
“Australians are still willing to spend this holiday season, but they’re putting more work into deciding what’s worth their money,” said James Johnson, head of enterprise ANZ at Shopify.
“They’re researching, weighing up more options and increasingly using AI to help them find products that fit what they’re looking for.
Retailers are responding to changing consumer habits by integrating AI tools into their operations. According to the report, 51 per cent of surveyed businesses are investing in AI-generated content, 46 per cent in virtual assistants, and 45 per cent in optimising store platforms for AI recommendation engines.
Destiny Flaherty, head of SEO at fashion retailer Princess Polly, outlined that the company is adapting its search strategy toward conversational query models by refining product attributes to match AI search platforms.
The findings also highlight shifting merchant choices, with 54 per cent of respondents reporting increased purchases from independent or niche brands compared to the previous year. Among frequent AI users, 80 per cent reported choosing independent brands more often.
