Stock counts give you a structured way to verify inventory in Shopify admin. Create a count, have staff record what’s on the shelf using barcode scanning or manual entry, then review results before stock levels change.
If you currently count using spreadsheets or manual workarounds, stock counts keeps the entire workflow in Shopify admin, with a clear record of what was counted, who counted it, and what changed.
What’s available:
* Create and schedule stock counts in admin
* Add products manually using search or with barcode scanning
* Assign counts to staff who can complete them in admin or POS
* Multiple staff members can contribute to the same count without overriding each other
* See who recorded each quantity and track count progress from creation to completion
* Review variances between counted and recorded quantities before approving changes
* New permissions settings to control who can perform counts and who can review and approve them
