Walmart plans to invest $300 million in a fulfillment center in Turtlecreek Township, Ohio, according to a Sept. 28 press release published by the Regional Economic Development Initiative Cincinnati.

The new facility will specialize in fulfilling larger, non-sortable items such as televisions, furniture and other oversized goods, per the release.

“By expanding Walmart’s fulfillment capacity in the region and positioning inventory closer to customers, the facility will help Walmart deliver more items faster while supporting the continued growth of its next-day delivery network,” according to the release.

The project, which will create more than 300 new jobs, follows Walmart’s purchase of almost 100 acres in Warren County, per the release. The Turtlecreek facility aims to complement Walmart’s existing fulfillment site in Monroe, Ohio, to further expand fulfillment capabilities in the region. The nearby Monroe facility currently employs more than 200 associates.

The REDI Cincinnati release did not disclose the size of the planned facility or the construction timeline.

The announcement comes as Walmart adjusts its warehouse network, including building, shuttering or upgrading some facilities. Earlier this year, the retailer filed a request to build a 1.5 million-square-foot fulfillment warehouse in New York. Walmart also reported plans to invest more than $330 million to upgrade its regional distribution center in Opelousas, Louisiana, with robotics and automation. Meanwhile, the retailer plans to shutter a fulfillment center in Massachusetts and another in Illinois.

Walmart is one of several retailers and e-commerce companies bolstering its capabilities for big and bulky deliveries. Amazon, for instance, recently announced a slew of upcoming service features for oversized goods, including regional delivery and pricing for bulky items. During the Amazon Accelerate 2026 conference, Amazon noted that the big and bulky sector was one of the company’s fastest growing merchant categories.

Costco also reported significant growth in its Costco Logistics business — a service for big and bulky products including furniture.
